Shopify accessibility
scanning
Compliable scans your Shopify store for WCAG issues and shows you where to fix them in Shopify. There is no app, plugin or code to install.
Common Shopify findings and where to fix them
Platform-specific guidance to help you act on your report.
Product image alt text
Missing alt text on product media is a common finding. Alt text is set per image in the Shopify admin, so the fix is usually content work rather than code.
Theme colour contrast
Low contrast often comes from theme colour settings. Many findings can be fixed in the theme editor without touching Liquid templates.
Form labels and buttons
Newsletter, search and cart forms sometimes ship without visible or programmatic labels. These fixes live in the theme's Liquid sections.
Third-party app markup
Installed apps can inject pop-ups, reviews and carousels with their own barriers. The report shows which elements fail so you can raise it with the app vendor.
How it works
- Nothing to install: enter any public URL
- Pages render in a real headless Chrome browser on desktop and mobile
- Built on the open-source axe-core engine
- Findings mapped to WCAG, the AODA and the Accessible Canada Act, plus ADA and Section 508 for U.S. sites
- Scores and reports with element-level details
- Expert audits and remediation guidance available
Automated scanning detects only part of all accessibility barriers and does not change your site. Fixes are made by you or your developer, and a full assessment also needs manual testing.
